Yew is not a registered investment advisor, broker-dealer, insurance agent, or fiduciary under any federal or state financial services regulation. Marketing copy describing Yew as "operated with fiduciary care" refers to operational discretion, not a regulated fiduciary relationship.
Yew is not a consumer reporting agency, credit bureau, or FCRA-regulated entity. Yew does not assemble or evaluate consumer credit information for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports. Yew acts solely as an authorized agent submitting suppression and disclosure requests on behalf of paying customers.
Removal of personal information from data brokers depends on each broker's policies, jurisdiction, and willingness to comply with applicable law. Industry-wide compliance rates on first request are approximately 60–70% (Consumer Reports, 2023). Yew re-submits every 90 days but does not and cannot guarantee complete removal. Some brokers ignore opt-out requests. Some operate outside U.S. jurisdiction. Some sources of personal information (court records, news articles, professional licensing databases) are protected as public records or speech and cannot be removed.
Yew reduces your visibility to data brokers but does not insure against identity theft, fraud, harassment, or stalking. Personal information already sold or licensed by brokers before your subscription began may continue to circulate in third-party systems beyond Yew's reach. Yew is not a substitute for a credit freeze, two-factor authentication, or, where appropriate, professional security services.
