Yew

Terms of Service

Last updated: May 18, 2026 · Effective immediately

These terms describe the agreement between you and Deep Forest AI, LLC, operator of Yew, when you use our service. We've written them in plain English. Where legal precision matters, we say so. If anything below seems unclear, email [email protected] before subscribing and we'll explain.

1. What Yew does

Yew is an agent-driven service that submits opt-out, suppression, and deletion requests to data brokers on your behalf. We cover 56 brokers (covering 70+ brands) across people-search sites, wholesale data brokers, and FCRA-regulated specialty bureaus. We re-run the full sweep every 90 days because brokers repopulate their records from public sources.

2. The authorization you grant us

By subscribing, you grant Deep Forest AI, LLC a limited power of attorney authorizing it to act as your agent for the sole purpose of submitting opt-out, suppression, deletion, and FCRA disclosure requests to data brokers, people-search sites, consumer reporting agencies, and other entities that hold or publish personal information about you. This authorization specifically includes the right to:

(i) submit electronic opt-out and deletion requests via email or web form, identifying Yew as your authorized agent;
(ii) send postal mail and certified mail letters bearing your name and identifying Yew as your authorized agent;
(iii) on Concierge tier only, sign and send FCRA §609 disclosure requests and FCRA §611 dispute letters bearing your name, using the partial Social Security number and redacted photo identification you have provided;
(iv) make any formal "authorized agent" designation required by California Civil Code §1798.135(b), §1798.99.86, or by analogous state law in any state where you reside;
(v) confirm receipt and pursue follow-up correspondence with the same recipients on your behalf for the duration of your active subscription.

This authorization is limited to these specific actions. It does not extend to opening accounts, executing contracts, incurring debt, or taking any action with legal effect beyond requesting removal or suppression of your existing personal information. It may be revoked at any time by cancelling your subscription; revocation takes effect within 7 days of receipt of your cancellation.

This authorization is what lets us communicate with brokers on your behalf — many brokers' opt-out endpoints require an explicit representation that the requester is acting for the named person. Without it, the request is rejected.

3. Pricing and renewal

All plans are billed annually in advance through Stripe. We do not currently offer monthly billing. Renewal occurs automatically 365 days from your activation date unless you cancel; we will email a reminder 30 days before renewal so renewals are never a surprise.

4. Refunds and cancellation

30-day money-back guarantee.

If you cancel within 30 days of activation, we refund 100% of what you paid. No questions, no friction. Email [email protected] and the refund is processed within 5 business days.

After 30 days.

Pro-rated refunds for the unused portion of the current term are available, less a $50 administrative fee that covers the broker submissions we've already paid for on your behalf. We don't claw back submissions already in flight — once an opt-out is queued, it runs.

Cancellation always cancels the renewal.

You can cancel at any time and continue receiving service through the end of the current term. Your data is deleted 12 months after the term ends, per the Privacy Policy.

5. What we promise and what we don't

What we promise:

What we don't promise:

6. Limitation of liability

Because we cannot guarantee broker compliance or prevent third-party misuse of data already in circulation, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the amount you have paid Yew in the 12 months preceding the claim.

This limitation does not apply to (a) our gross negligence or willful misconduct, (b) breach of our confidentiality obligations to you, or (c) any liability that cannot be excluded by applicable law.

We are not liable for: data breaches at third-party brokers; misuse of your information by parties to whom brokers had already sold or licensed it before you signed up; identity theft, fraud, or consequential damages of any kind not directly caused by our actions.

7. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Deep Forest AI, LLC is a North Carolina limited liability company. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by mutual discussion in good faith will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Buncombe County, North Carolina, and you and Deep Forest AI, LLC each consent to that exclusive jurisdiction.

Before filing any claim, please email [email protected]. We commit to a good-faith conversation within 5 business days. Most disputes are resolved this way.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will email every active customer at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Prior versions are preserved for reference.
